I spent a bunch of time this week getting a lot of journals ready to bind. I covered the bookboard with decorative paper, hand tore the pages for the inside of the journal (signatures), punched holes in the signatures and covers. They are now ready to bind and I’ll be doing that this coming week. Here is a picture using the “jig” the Rich made to keep the paper in place while I punch the holes and the pile of journals ready to bind.
I just delivered some journals to Hart’s Fine Books in Sequim, where they will be selling them. They now have both the larger journals (8×10) and my standard size journals (5 3/4 x 7 3/4). This is a great book store, be sure to go in and check it out.
I have been spending this month making books. So far I have done books with coptic, french twist and herringbone bindings. It is fun to take a diversion for a little while. These are going to be sold at Pacific Mist Books in Sequim starting during the November First Friday Art Walk.
