I have just finished a couple of new birdie designs. These are acrylic on canvas – small square designs.
I have finished the illustration drawings for the newest book by Gene Bradbury. This one will be called “Kitten Kitty Reads a Book” and will be for pretty little kids. The drawings are done and now on to the painting. The book should be out early to mid-summer.
The other book of Gene’s that I illustrated, called “When Cricket’s Snore”, was published last summer. It was a lot of fun to do and so far this one is as well.
Here is my latest painting. I’m calling it “Tree Lined Road”, done with acrylics. It is 18″x24″.
I just finished painting a bunch of fabric to use to make into book covers. The next step is to get these cut out and start the process of making the journals. I’ll keep you posted.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
I will be at the Port Townsend Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair this coming Friday and Saturday (Nov. 25-26th). It is being held at the Uptown Community Center from 10am to 5pm. My booth will be in the gymnasium downstairs. I hope you have a chance to come by and see me.
I have a few new things this year. The outdoor metal birds are now done and I also have the new counted cross-stitch kits. As always I have journals, prints, cards, and tiles as well as some originals.
I will be one of the vendors at the Jamestown S’Klallam Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair in Blyn this Saturday, November 5th from 9am to 4pm. It is being held at the Community Center. There are some great artists at this event so I hope you will have an opportunity to come out. In addition to the arts and crafts, there are raffle items and baked goods.
The 2017 Cat Calendar is now ready. This calendar has 12 designs involving cats. There is a separate calendar page for each month of the year. This desk calendar sits in a CD-like display case holder so that all the months are handy and you just rotate the current month to the front. The original designs were created as acrylic paintings on canvas.
Here is my newest cat design for Halloween. It will be in the 2017 calendar.
Throughout my childhood and early adult years I did a lot of sewing and stitchery. But over 30 years ago, I moved on to do other forms of art. Recently I thought it might be fun to make some cross stitch patterns from my designs. There are 4 designs I am working on and will be making kits from these designs. Here is the first one, it is called “Spring Time”. The original is a colored pencil design.
It has been fun getting back into doing cross stitch. I’ll have some kits at my holiday shows.
