Hope you have a wonderful day!
With fall in the air and the end of October approaching, Halloween isn’t very far off. Here is one of my bird images from a few years ago. The original was done in colored pencil.
Throughout my childhood and early adult years I did a lot of sewing and stitchery. But over 30 years ago, I moved on to do other forms of art. Recently I thought it might be fun to make some cross stitch patterns from my designs. There are 4 designs I am working on and will be making kits from these designs. Here is the first one, it is called “Spring Time”. The original is a colored pencil design.
It has been fun getting back into doing cross stitch. I’ll have some kits at my holiday shows.
I will be at the 45th Port Townsend Crafts By the Dock this weekend, September 10-11th, 10am to 6pm Sat, 10am to 5pm Sun. It takes place downtown on Madison Street/Water Street. This great arts and crafts show takes place at the same time as the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend.
School started here in Sequim today so I thought another image might be good. This one has only appeared in the calendar I did a few years ago.
With school starting this week and next, it made me think about this design I did a few years ago called “Group Think”.
With the hot weather upon us, think about taking the family to the beach for some fun. If you can’t go, then dream about it as you look at “Family Day at the Beach”.
The NBA Finals are going on right now and this is honor of basketball, from my Robot series a few years ago.
We have had such a beautiful spring so far this year and it looks like it is going to continue for a while.
The 121st Sequim Irrigation Festival is starting tomorrow. Until the late 1800’s the Sequim area was a dry prairie. In the mid-1890’s irrigation ditches were dug to bring water from the Dungeness River to the prairie. This began an agricultural revolution to the area. We celebrate this technological feat to this day. you can learn more about the history of the Sequim Irrigation Festival from our website: http://www.irrigationfestival.com/history/
The Irrigation Festival runs over 2 weekends from May 6th to May 15th. This year I am one of the co-directors of the Innovative Arts and Crafts Fair, one of the many events of the festival. The Innovative Arts and Crafts Fair starts May 6th from 5pm-8pm and continues Saturday (10-5) and Sunday (10-4).
In honor of the Sequim Irrigation Festival, I did this colored pencil drawing many years ago.
